About Turn 2
Turn 2 Softball started out as Turn 2 Sports, the brainchild of Renee Ferguson (former D2 pitching standout at Tusculum University, and D1 pitching coach at Morgan State University), and Linda McGinnis (championship-winning high school coach, and former college player).
We started out in 2015 as a sports training organization and quickly made a name for ourselves in the Maryland area providing softball training to individual players and teams. Two years in, we started out first Turn 2 Softball team. That year we sent two girls off to college, one to play D1 softball the other to a local Junior College.
We quickly learned from the players who joined our first team, that fundamental coaching was lacking at all levels in our area. We decided at that time that we wanted our organization to be centered on fundamentals in addition to top-level play, and we’ve never looked back.
All Turn 2 Softball coaches are vetted for their knowledge and ability to teach fundamentals as well as the game. Turn 2 Softball requires that all coaches obtain USA Softball ACE Certification in addition to being background checked by USA Softball.
